Paper · 90 g/m² · A5 pad · 50 sheets
Glaze
Coated paper, 90 g/m², smooth as glass under the nib. Ink stays on top, so you see all of it: sheen, shimmer, shading.

Your browser has 3D turned off (for example Lockdown Mode). This is what the desk looks like.
The paper
Glaze has a fine mineral coating over the sheet. Ink cannot sink in, so it sits on the surface and dries there.
That is why Harbour Blue shows its red edge on Glaze and why Ember glints. Lines stay sharp, with no feathering at all.
The price is time. A wet line on Glaze stays wet longer than on any other paper we make. Give a page a moment before you turn it, or keep a sheet of blotting paper in the pad.
Good with: Flex and italic nibs; sheening and shimmer inks.
Our inks on Glaze
- Gall Black
Sits on the coating, so the grey-blue lasts longer before it turns. Slow to dry.
- Harbour Blue
Red sheen on every pooled edge. Slow to dry; give it a moment before you close the pad.
- Ember
Gold sits on top of the coating and glints along every stroke.
- Moss
Strong shading: pale where the stroke was fast, almost black where it pooled.
- Sepia
Crisp and slightly glossy. Slow to dry.

Drying, compared
| Paper | Dry to the touch | Spread | Show-through |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rag | about 4 s | The line spreads about 15% past the nib | None |
| Glaze | about 10 s | Crisp — the line stays at nib width | None |
| Washi | about 2 s | The line spreads about 6% past the nib | Shows on the back |
Wider nibs and wetter inks take longer everywhere. Gall Black keeps darkening long after it is dry.
